Privacy policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
thecookout.tech is run by DB Creations LLC (doing business as Digital Alchemy), the company of Desmond Baker Jr. This page explains what we collect on this site, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your email, if you subscribe. The newsletter form asks for your email address and nothing else.
- Visit counts. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and clicks on the RSVP, Skool, and newsletter buttons. It does not use cookies, and we don't use it to identify you.
- Server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the site.
- A note in your browser. If you close or answer the newsletter popup, your browser stores a small local note so the popup doesn't keep coming back. It never leaves your device.
How we use it
We use your email only to send The Cookout newsletter: weekly specials, event updates, and build notes from Digital Alchemy. We use visit counts to see what's working on the site. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Who helps us
- Resend stores newsletter subscribers and sends the emails.
- Vercel hosts this site and provides the analytics.
RSVPs happen on Luma, and the community lives on Skool and Discord. When you use those services, their own privacy policies apply. Live sessions run on Google Meet, under Google's policies.
Your choices
- Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you're off the list.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@digitalalchemy.dev and we'll respond within 30 days.
Recordings
Sprints aren't recorded. We ask before sharing anyone's voice, camera, or screen.
Kids
This site and its newsletter are not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child signed up, email us and we'll remove it.
Security
Signups go over an encrypted connection to a server-side function. The keys that connect to our email provider never reach your browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
